Csaba Grünfelder
Hungarian-born Csaba Grünfelder is a trained concert pianist, conductor and singer. He completed his master's degree in Piano at the University of Szeged in 2005. Already during his studies, he worked at the National Theatre of Szeged from 2002, first as a répétiteur, and later also as a choral tenor.
Between 2007 and 2020, he was Second Tenor in the opera choir of the Linz State Theatre. He performed regularly as a solo singer in various roles at the Linz State Theatre.
In 2018 he ran the rehearsals for the house choir for the Linz State Theatre’s productions of “Death in Venice” by Benjamin Britten and “Tristan und Isolde” by Richard Wagner.
In 2020 he was appointed "Assistant to the Choir Director and Head of the Children's Choir" at Oper Frankfurt. He was able to expand his repertoire at this renowned opera house and had more opportunity to work independently with the choir.
He has been Choir Director at Theater Vorpommern in Stralsund since the 2021/2022 season. He has also lectured as répétiteur in the Singing Department at hmt Rostock since winter semester 2021.
