Masterclass Oboe Christina Gómez Godoy and Gregor Witt
Principal oboist of the Staatskapelle Berlin since 2013 and adjunct professor at the Universität der Künste (UdK) Berlin since 2015, Cristina Gómez Godoy (born in Linares, 1990) leads a busy career as a soloist and chamber musician.
Gómez made in 2019 her debut at Carnegie Hall and Pierre Boulez Saal with pianist Michail Lifits. Shortly after, she was selected by the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO) as a "Rising Star" (2020-21). In addition, she was appointed as a resident artist "Junge Wilde" at the Konzerthaus Dortmund (2021-2024).
In February 2022 she released her debut album under Warner Classics: "Mozart and Strauss Oboe Concertos" with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra & Daniel Barenboim.
As a soloist, she has performed with the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Festival Strings Lucerne (Rheingau Musik Festival), West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, Kölner Kammerorchester, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo, Münchener Kammerorchester, Saarländisches Staatsorchester, Polish Chamber Orchestra, and the Symphony Orchestras of Barcelona, Sevilla, Castilla y León, Región de Murcia, and Navarra, among others.
Cristina frequently collaborates with artists such as Daniel Barenboim, Mario Häring, Michail Lifits, Pablo Ferrández, Radek Baborak, Sophie Dervaux, Sara Ferrández, Calidore String Quartet, Streichquartett der Staatskapelle Berlin at Ravinia Festival (USA), Lucerne Festival, Trondheim Kammermusikkfestival, Musikverein, Elbphilharmonie, L'Auditori and Palau de la Música in Barcelona, Auditorio Nacional de Madrid, Philharmonie de Paris, Barbican Centre, and Kölner Philharmonie.

Born in Dresden, Gregor Witt studied oboe with Prof. Gerd Albrecht Kleinfeld at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin from 1985-1989. Following his first positions as solo oboist at the Mecklenburgische Staatskapelle Schwerin and the Komische Oper Berlin, Daniel Barenboim appointed him to the same position at the Staatskapelle/Berlin State Opera.
Alongside his work at the Berlin State Opera, Gregor Witt has been Full Professor of Oboe and Chamber Music at the Rostock University of Music and Drama since 2015, where he started teaching in 2004. Many of his former students are solo oboists in famous orchestras and prizewinners at international competitions such as the ARD International Music Competition in Munich 2008 and 2011, as well as the Markneukirchen International Instrumental Competition 2010.
Gregor Witt makes guest performances as a soloist both in Germany and abroad and is a member of numerous chamber music ensembles, including the woodwind quintet of the Staatskapelle, with which he has recorded several CDs and performances for radio. His guest performances have taken him to all of Europe’s most important music centres, to Japan, North and South America, and Israel. As a chamber musician, he has performed alongside Daniel Barenboim, David Geringas, Julia Fischer, Klaus Thunemann, Marie Luise Neunecker and many more. As solo oboist, he has played in many of Germany's major orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the NDR Symphony Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Dresden and the Munich Philharmonic.
He has also taken part in renowned festivals, participating at the Lockenhaus Chamber Music Festival and at the Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival, with whom he also appeared at New York’s Carnegie Hall.
Furthermore, Gregor Witt regularly holds international masterclasses - for example in the USA, e.g. at the Juilliard School in New York, in Norway, Finland, Japan, Russia, and Poland.
He conducts several chamber orchestras and has led the Mecklenburgische Bläserakademie, which he co-founded, since 2006, as well as the Staatskapelle Berlin’s woodwind ensemble “Lindenharmonie”.
His first solo CD “my oboe” was released in 2015, and features music recorded for RBB Berlin, including Robert Schumann’s “Romances for Oboe and Piano” that he performed with Daniel Barenboim.
