hmt Rostock provides its students with various opportunities to get involved and perform in the symphony orchestra, in choirs and ensembles. The Symphony Orchestra of the hmt Rostock is a central institution supporting nearly all of the fields of study. This is where students gain extensive practical experience as orchestra musicians, soloists and conductors.

The University Choir is open to all students who would like to enhance their vocal skills. The Chamber choir of the hmt Rostock  has very high expectations of its members. In addition to the classical ensembles such as the Junges Rostocker Nonett, the Mecklenburgische Bläserakademie and the Percussion Community Rostock, there is also a Swingin’ Warnow Jazz Orchestra. Students of pop and world music also have their own bands.
